　　整本书精彩的观点十分多，难以一一阐述，所以我选取了两个我认为比较深刻的观点，来讲一下我的看法。

　　这本书说到"一个成功的城市地区的基本原则是人们在街上身处陌生人之间时必须能感到人身安全，必须不会潜意识感受到陌生人的威胁。"我认为是对的，对于生活在城市里的人，他们对城市的最基本要求就是保护自己的人身安全，那么，城市规划者在规划城市时应如何考虑城市地区的安全工作呢？首先，在公共空间与私人空间之间必须界线分明不能像郊区的住宅区那样混合在一起。这样，那些需要监视的地方就会有一个清楚、适用的范围。第二，必须要有监视的眼睛。街边的楼房应该面向街道，这个楼房的居民可以起到应付陌生人和保护陌生人的作用。第三，人行道必须要有行人。行人不仅可以增加"监视的眼睛",还可以吸引楼房里的居民向街道看。街道的作用不仅是要防备那些要做坏事的陌生人，还要保护那些本来善良无辜的行人们。在我看来，有时候深夜仍然热闹的城市，在一定程度上也会给人安全感，因为你知道在这街道上你自己不是孤身一人，你遭遇不幸时可以求救，求救也会得到回应。常听人抱怨密集型地方的环境太嘈杂，却忽略了这种拥挤带来的安全感。再有的是，我认为城市的安全不是依靠警察来维护的，他们只是在某些必要事件的维护者，城市的安全最基本是我们在城市中的每一个人，我们在城市中要有认同感归属感，我们才会自觉的维护城市的安全。
